With over 15 years of employment law experience, Jeanine Scalero currently serves as “Of Counsel” for the firm handling employment practices and compliance issues.
Jeanine provides consulting and labor and employment advice to employers on a wide variety of issues including hiring and firing, employee discipline, wage and hour law, reasonable accommodations, leaves of absence, and reductions in force, among others.
She drafts documents relating to all aspects of the employment relationship, such as employee handbooks, employment policies and procedures, job offer letters, employment agreements, separation agreements, cease and desist letters, and confidentiality agreements. She also conducts workplace investigations into claims of discrimination and harassment.
Jeanine responds to administrative charges made before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and Department of Fair Employment & Housing (DFEH) regarding claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, and retaliation. She also responds to wage claims made before the Department of Labor (DOL) and Department of Labor Standards Enforcement (DLSE) and unemployment claims before the Employment Development Department (EDD) and Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board (UIAB).
Jeanine also has experience litigating employment-related claims, including discrimination, wrongful termination, sexual harassment, retaliation, breach of employment contract, defamation, and wage and hour class actions. She also is very adept at resolving matters outside of litigation at settlement conferences and mediations.
